The slide show lied to me
So, here we are. Hour 32 of these dammable contractions. Still no baby. Not even the inkling of baby. Just baby sitting pretty, laughing at us. Tine went into the hospital yesterday morning with these sudden pains and got looked at. Sure enough, she had started her contractions. 5 minutes apart, and steady. I rush home after class to find that they released her since nothing is progressing. Last night, I think we tried every home remedy we could think of just to try and induce labor (except that one). No go.
I finally get to sleep around 1AM, but not before joking with her that she'll be waking me up around 3AM to get going. Me and my stupid big mouth. Sure enough, 3:14AM she is clutching my arm and getting me out of bed . . . we're out of cereal and she needs some NOW!!! We are 38.5 weeks into this little even, and she now decides to get cravings. Come back home with Toasty-O's in hand, and crash. We started sleeping in the living room, then moved to the futon in the family room, then to the recliner, then finally back to bed.
Today, first thing in the morning, we go and see her doctor for an update. Congratulations, your contractions are still steady and regular and you have nor dilated to a one. We go back home and sleep for a few more hours. 3PM rolls around and we're back at the hospital with some harder contractions. YAY, we're almost to a two!
The doctor is hesitant about forcing things along when we're technically two weeks early, and not even dilated to a three. Not that I can blame him. So what do we do, we schedule an appointment for next week. If this goes on till next week, I'm hunting down the guy that made those materials in our birthing class and stabbing him. Nothing in this pregnancy has yet to match the handy dandy slide show presentation ("Your Belly and You") we saw.

Hehe...welcome to labor! Not active labor, mind you...just labor. This could go on for weeks, you know. Sorry. Sucks, I know. But the end result is FANTASTIC. Hang in there!
